People from across Greater Manchester gathered in the city centre to show their support for businesses after trade was damaged by the riots. After the riots, hundreds of people chose to express their feelings on Post-it notes on a wall of love, Arndale Centre. Also a programme of family events, called Platform 4 was staged throughout the day.
